Help for Haiti: Eight loads delivered, and counting

Since January 15, PROJECT C.U.R.E. has delivered eight separate loads (approximately 800 boxes of supplies each) to earthquake survivors, and aid workers helping them, in Haiti. The value of materials delivered so far is nearly $3 million!

CASCA and Project Cure — a Providential Partnership

CASCA Corporate Member QSE Technologies (www.qsetech.com) recently wrote in their company newsletter about Project Cure.
Project CURE – Delivering Hope and Help Throughout the World
We have mentioned this incredible organization before . . . based in Denver and with locations in Phoenix, Houston and Nashville, Project CURE is the world’s largest organization that collects usable medical supplies and equipment and ships them to over 100 needy countries, from Albania to Zambia. CURE medical teams visit each country to ensure that the contents of each 40-foot ocean-going container can be properly utilized.
QSE has been fortunate to be associated with Project CURE for the last several years. This has included many monthly “sorting sessions,” where volunteers sort through donated supplies and equipment, and then inventory and package them for shipment overseas (incredibly, each man-hour spent sorting is estimated to save 7 lives). . . .
There is a secondary component to Project CURE. If you visit their enormous warehouse, you will see literally truckloads of equipment and supplies that otherwise would end up in a landfill somewhere. These items are not usable in the US for a variety of legal, regulatory and business reasons, but they are still usable – and vital – to the countries where they are shipped.
Many of QSE’s medical clients have stepped up to the plate to donate supplies, provide sorting volunteers and even some medical assistance for the assessment teams. Many other QSE clients were already involved with Project CURE. Our thanks go out to them.

A Night at the Sorting Center

On Wednesday, July 18, 2007, CASCA had its first sorting night at Project C.U.R.E.’s new sorting center located in Centennial, Colorado. CASCA members, Lowry Surgery Center and Rocky Mountain Surgery Center, spent time touring the new facility and sorting many of the materials which Project C.U.R.E. receive each day.
