Employer Health Costs Rise by 11.8% in 2009 in Colorado

Colorado business owners say the cost of offering health insurance to employees has climbed 11.8 percent compared with a year ago, according to a new survey.
This marks the ninth consecutive year Colorado businesses, on average, have faced a double-digit rate increase when renewing the previous year’s health plan, said the Lockton Benefit Group, one of the nation’s largest insurance brokers.
